Vive! The Chanel Wedding

Chanel. The iconic brand. The iconic woman.

Gabrielle Chanel, better known as Coco, revolutionized the world of fashion by being a determined risk taker, never a follower. Chanel's penchant for going against the norm is what made her so innovative. She did, after all, invent the little black dress (LBD) made of jersey in an era when most women wore very constraining garments; and her trademark women's suit was revolutionary.  A testament to her influence on the industry is that her iconic style endures.  For the bride who is a style-setting darling, why not have a Chanel-themed wedding?

For the Chanel-themed wedding, I would make choices emulating Coco herself. Her trademark wardrobe of black, her iconic pearls, and French Pink as a representation of her country, are reflective of this idea.

These invitations from YesUMaystationery on Etsy are adorable.

Gorgeous.  Black lace invitation with pearl details, Polyvore

I adore the tulle on this invite.  Available on Etsy

You may also opt to create your own using these adorable silk covered, pearl adorned boxes from HandbagAsia

Wedding favors should be simple and elegant.

Both, from It's a Wrap Wedding Favors

A sweet and easy idea is organza bags filled with faux pearls

I would maintain the same theme when choosing the bouquet.

I like the idea of this "black" bouquet.  Adorn with pearls in lieu of the silver.

Perfection.

This look represents Chanel yet incorporates a bit of whimsical kitsch.

Another option is to omit flowers completely and carry a full pearl bouquet. I'd wrap the stem in black.

For the bridesmaid at the Chanel wedding, I would pay homage to Coco by choosing dresses made out of jersey.

Michael Kors Tulip Hemmed Wool Jersey Dress, Nordstrom

Donna Karan Lace-Paneled Stretch Jersey Dress, Saks Fifth Avenue

Armani Collezioni Beaded Matte Jersey Dress, Saks Fifth Avenue

Alice + Olivia Draped One Shoulder, Saks Fifth Avenue

The cake should be decadent and over-the-top.

Gorgeous!!!!  This absolutely incredible edible creation by A Wish and a Whisk is Chanel, perfectly  personified.

Closeups of the exquisite detail.

A more literal interpretation from Palermo Bakery

Amazing.

How adorable would these creations by Candy Bar Couture be for the bridal shower?

Sweet.  Pacific Weddings

Lovely.  Sweet Cakes by Rebecca

The china should be very simple and classic.  It should be all about how you dress the setting; the details should be in the napkins and rings, et cetera.  Murano plate from Crate and Barrel.

For the wedding gown, you may opt for a specific look such as a white gown with a black sash.

Fantastic.  From Eve Allure

A vintage look from Anne Barge.

Love the streamlined look and peplum.  At The Aisle New York.

This Tea-length dress is great.  I love the clean lines and bow detail; to me they emulate Chanel's hats.

This dress is simple yet classic. Rosa Clara.

If you'd like to take a departure from a literal interpretation, I also love the idea of French Pink.

These two blush pink creations by Lazaro are what dreams are made of.

Incredible.  Vera Wang.  I would opt for a Black sash here.

Lastly, I must mention these Chanel Gowns.  I love the delicate details.  Exquisite!!
